Hai is only two years old; she was diagnosed with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia when she was born. This was terribly sad news for her family as they have had three son’s die from the disease, though it was unknown why at the time.
When Hai was one, she underwent corrective surgery which was a very difficult and expensive time for the family, with both her parents being seasonal farm workers earning a pittance. Fortunately for her family, whilst Hai was staying at the hospital they met a young boy already sponsored by ACCV. His father, sympathising with their situation, gave them our details.
Hai’s family were so relieved and grateful when ACCV began supporting their daughter, knowing that without regular medication she too might die as her brothers tragically did.
When Hai is at home with her family, she loves to watch cartoons, her favourite cartoon is on in the early evening and she watches this with her sisters. One of the character’s names is ‘Little Bunny’ and because Hai loves the cartoon very much her family have begun calling her ‘Little Bunny’, much to her delight, she now refuses to answer to anything else.
Next year Hai will be going off to kindergarten, something that may not have been possible without your support. Her parents are so pleased that her health has improved and that their ‘Little Bunny’ is a happy little girl. Thank you.
